My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.--Philippians 4:19

When I was younger one story of the power of prayer stood out from all the rest. A simple orphanage was not kept open by powerful patronage or great fund raisers. It was instead kept open by the power of prayer alone. When ever the orphanage needed something the proprietor would prayer. Instantly at times those needs were met. While on other occasions in the fullness of time. Rest assured though everyone of those needs were met simply through prayer

A man by the name of George Müller led a quite extraordinary life by simply praying first . What dear brethren could we do for the Lord if we only followed this man’s example. Or better yet the example left to us in the Bible.

There has risen a great lament from America We have been called on to fast and pray but have not seen the Christians take on the mantle of self denial. I see too many times Christians preaching the jargon of culture then the attitude of Christ. This man whose very face is a pleasure to behold exudes the confidence and bonhomie every Christian should be exemplifying in these troubled times. But many will say that was then. In modern times that time is living by faith won’t work. So dear reader I would like to share another story.

7 months into our marriage my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Our newly married bubble shattered. Truth be told though I was grateful. For months my husband had been sick. Missing work and sleeping around the clock. He would come home if he had been at work, gulp down his food and then pass out. I didn‘t understand why my husband had lost interest in me seemingly overnight. Not only would he sleep whenever he was off work but if he wasn’t sleeping or working he was sick. Every little trifling cold that went around our Church or his work would lay my husband flat on his back. In truth I was grateful for the diagnosis, as we now had something concrete to fight. A name for thing. I was out of work as we had months earlier been hit by a semi and was in physical therapy. Life was not simple and with no money coming in we had to rely heavily on prayer. We cleared $12,000 that first year of marriage and with $460 rent. There wasn’t much to go around. After my husband’s second cancer surgery. He had been fired for not showing up to work too many times. He was barely alive at this point his 6’6 frame had dwindled down to 120 lbs. We prayed. We had nothing. On top of which we were pregnant! Yep my husband with testicular cancer and was told it was a good thing we got pregnant then as we would never have anymore children. This was especially a miracle child as I was told at 22 I would never get pregnant naturally as I had PCOS. Me being pregnant was the only thing that kept Aerl going the one bright spot to look forward to in trouble times. But we literally had no money in the bank and no job! We had even scheduled a meeting with the church Minister the following week. When out of the blue our Church congregation presented us with $1500! Our church by the power of prayer knew our needs and supplied them! That money would go on to last us 3 months! 3 months of no job, no money coming in, a baby born, and another hospital stay. We didn’t have a lot but our basic needs were covered! God can do amazing things if we just step out of our own comfort zone and let him!
